above: Wellington Pier. There is a huge arcade at the base of this now, that you walk through to get to the theatre (pictured). The theatre building is actually undergoing refurbishment. The artist's impression made it seem as if it will look modern, yet keep the same style. above: The Atlantis building has been greatly smartened up in the past few years. In my day, it was simply a covered market. below: the vast beach. above: Britannia Pier. above: amusement area on the Pier. This is only a tiny selection of the attractions on Great Yarmouth seafront. Really is one of my favourite places.

Hehe I remember the indoor market at what is now Atlantis, it does look very smart and much improved to what it used to be, I notice there’s a KFC there, there was one in your Clacton arcade photos, it seems they like to find sites between seaside arcades!
On our visit to Blackpool in July, we spent some time in the cheap markets, particularly the large one near the tower, there was a space where one of the stalls had been removed and I contemplated leasing it to open a sombrero and top hats stall, unfortunately the next day we went in the word had got out, and joiners were there erecting a new plywood stand for “Mad Franks Sombreros, Top Hats and Personalised Rock Stall”
