Thorpe park is planning an intamin rocket coaster for the 2006 season, the ride will feature an inversion and a top hat. Check out the layout of the forthcoming Kanonen at Lisebergthis will be also be a looping intamin rocket coaster, seeing this ride, i can see how the thorpe park version could be very much the same as that ride, what do you think?

Hopefully we'll see the layout for the Thorpe coaster soon, as I've heard it doesn't have any elements other than the top hat. I'm sure we should see the planning application no later than October this year, as I seem to recall Air was September 2000 (and opened March 2002 of course).

Mr Wardley had said at Nemesis X the Thorpe ride would have an inversion, but now it seems its back to an Xcelerator clone, which to be honest i think i'd prefer
i'm surprised xcelerator hasn't be widely cloned yet perhaps parks are weary of running costs and maintenance involved in having a launched coaster still and or maybe concerned about the safety of intamin products?
nevertheless if xcelerator becomes an off the shelf line, it will mark the revival of the figure 8 coaster layout design
