The rumour mill suggests Pleasurewood Hills is getting a rapids ride, as previously discussed in other topics, but how do you think this ride will turn out? If it does happen at all! Will it be a fullsized rapids, like a hafema / intamin, or the water flume style like reverchon, fabbri or white water west? and will it be themed? Personally i'd like something inbetween, not too over the top themeing, mainly natural style elements, a slight chute and possibly whirlpool. I think particularly the last three photos on this site illustrate the style of ride i'd like for the park, i do think its important as Graeme suggested to plant a lot of trees, it would help improve the atmosphere of the park and also help to shelter the park from the surrounding residential areas

Pleasurewood is a very green park, but they would indeed need to plant more trees to create the essential adventure feel of a rapids ride as shown in those pictures. Rock formations would also work.
The good new is, if it's built at all, I believe it will be a full-size rapids. The bad news is I'm sceptical it will get built! I hope Grevin are satisfied with the attendance this year. They really shouldn't be put off, as it has been proven in the past that Pleasurewood can attract enough visitors. They really can't expect to have had an upturn in visitors based on the cosmetic work they've done this year, essential as it may or may not have been.
I'd theme the ride as a fishing trip; the platform a quayside with greedy Herring Gulls waiting for an opportunity to steal the fishermen's haul.
I would actually call the ride Whirpool, and have this element prominently on display. This would be one of the dangers the fishermen face. Others would be a chute and an encounter with an angry whale.

Wow that sounds incredible! You should work for Farmer Studios Graeme! When i first heard Grevin had taken over Pleasurewood Hills i expected themed rides, with a big sense of fun and adventure intergrated into them, like Graeme's rapids concept however it seems there's been a lot of change in the management of the company, with one of the top bosses leaving, their new policy (from their european parks) is to remove the theming and paint things in bright colour schemes, as Bagatelle's mine train shows I really hope that Grevin have faith to install the new rapids at Pleasurewood, if it is done right i'm sure it'll make returns for the park, i agree they cant expect people to visit without updating the collection of rides, especially after removing some of the park's rides like Mega Drop, which my friend from the area assures me was one of their most known rides

That Mine Train at Bagatelle is proposterous!
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old theme. Infact; on the contrary it was rather nice... why on earth have they done a fool thing like this.
