i accidentally clicked across Neil Mowforth's classic UKThemeParkPage, one of the original wave of coaster / park fan sites UKThemeParkPageit's great to see it's still online, this is the sort of site i had in mind when i re-designed the current version of UrbanMonsters, i wanted a really retro site which were more about the webmaster sharing their personal experiences of visiting parks (though with information been more widely available these days i didn’t do it in such a descriptive way), rather than the current sites which are all about very technical photography and advanced web site design and coding . . . not just cause i'm not very good at either! does anybody know of any more retro sites which are still about?

I very much like the retro sites. There are two main reasons why I don't do one nowadays: 1) The glory era, for me, was Homestead. When that stopped, I didn't have such an easy way of doing it. I did buy a .co.uk address, but gave up after after a year, as I didn't think it was worth the expense. 2) My new experiences to share were all in 1999/2000. I wanted to go to Alton, Blackpool, Oakwood etc, and my reports were all very enthusiastic about them! It's a shame my innocence has gone, but I just couldn't give something like Traumatizer such a glowing report these days! Nowadays, I've been to most UK parks (I don't want to travel) a number of times, and if I experience a new ride, I just put it in a report. I am a very big advocate of general interest sites though, and I think it's a shame enthusiasts have become so separated. Thriving discussion groups have sprung up around the ECC. RCCGB, Blackpool, Alton, Thorpe etc... I like most parks, but am not a fan of any particular one. The UK scene is best when we see the whole picture: Fantasy Island on the Lincolnshire coast, Blackpool and Southport up west, the tiny parks, the moderately-sized parks and, yes, the Tussauds parks as well! We need the people who are passionate about their favourite parks to bring the information to general sites. Perhaps it's just me, but I prefer that to venturing into their "territory"!
